The 4th picture looked the best although those pics didn't really focus on your hair colour or style. I thought the third one looked funky/spunky which seems like it matches your style.

I'd say light suits you well and you should go just a tad bit darker (dark blonde/light brown) to bring out your features.

you can go to a vintagy store and get a fancy old school clip or something and slick one side of your hair back and up and leave the other side natural and wavy. Fingerwaves would be cool but they are very hard to master.

Hm. well they used to wear tight curls to their scalps. so i reccoment going to the dollar store (good, and cheap effctive curling irons =D) and doing tight ringlet curls to you head.

big curls but put half up with a clip thing lol

or soft curls like curl just the tips all down

she has crazy extensions... but you should tease your hair on the top of the crown. to add volume. this is done by back comming the hair at the base of the strand. smooth it over with a brush. use a flat iron to sweep the bangs like she does. its a task, especially when you dont have extensions..good luck

well, i think you should try to take different hairstyles. so try to have a short hair. you should not be that hardly conscious to your hair or outfit, but what matter most is your attitude. i mean, what ever styles of hairstyles and outfit you wear still depends on how you carry ii. thers no such thing as UGLY.. remember: the real beauty is in the ete of the beholder..

if your going to ask me, well i tried different hair styles. and from that trials.. i finally found hairstyles which are good for me and not.

I think you should get the back and sides buzzed 1/4 to 1/8 inch and leave the top longer (about 1 1/2 to two inches). Do NOT straighten, keep the curl on top to give it some volume. That would look great on you, especially if you have a somewhat long neck.

Hi,

I think I have somewhat of an 'inverted hairline.' the center most part of my hairline seems to be receding a little bit due to excessive ponytails and gel usage, but is still noticeable. however, i have hair on the sides of my temples, because that's how my mom's hairline is. it doesn't recede or 'box' like most people's. i'm embarrassed to admit that it kind of looks like a bell shaped curve from front view and from the side view, i don't know how to explain it. it just looks horrible!!!

i always wear my hair to the side because any other style looks so bad. i also have thick hair and bangs are NOT an option because i have wavy/curly hair. i don't want to straighten, either.

should i go for a hair transplant? i'm female. i even get conscious when i swim because my hair goes back and i have to check every time i jump in.

If its redeced due to "damage" it will grow back. This use to be a fashion, women use to shave their foreheads to get this look.

A good hair dresser can give you bangs and make it look good, doesn't matter how thick your hair is.

I like the way my hair is so smooth after getting it cut and styled at the hairdressers. I do not have overly frizzy/curly hair but it's enough to bug me.

What would work better for taming the frizz. A hair dryer or a flat iron. I could really go either way but I usually don't blow dry my hair - I let it dry naturally. If the dryer works better than the flat iron, then I have will no problem using the dryer.

Okay, if prom is next week, you need to go out and start shopping for a dress RIGHT NOW!! Look in the phone book or ask your friends where they get their formal dresses and go out and start shopping. It'll take a while to find a dress that you like and that fits you.

I always wore my hair straight and down to formal dances. I never had enough money to pay to get it done, and I'm really bad at doing hairstyles myself. I think it looked nice, though. I usually wore it up in a ponytail so it was a change for me, and I think hair down or half-up half-down is prettier, especially for pictures, than hair that's all up. Updos look really cool up close but they take forever and don't usually look that fantastic from far away or in pictures. Just my own opinion, though.

Google "celebrity hairstyles" and you can find lots and lots of pictures of fancy hair.

Also, if you're going with someone, don't try to match your dress to your date's shirt. You'll just look silly. But do find out what color he'll be wearing so you can get a boutonniere that will go with it.

Ok so I've always been unhappy with the way that I look. I'm Very insecure. Lately I've had various people, many that I don't know coming up and insulting me for the way i look. I'm not ugly or anything... but not pretty either. I'm an individual with naturally black curly hair and really pale skin and dark eyes. I'm apparently bit thin... size 6/8 and a bit short, but the thing that people take the piss out of the most is what i wear. You can't put my style into a catagorie, but i wear a lot of black, as well as lots of bright ravey colours.

Can anyone suggest a new style that won't get comments such as Grebo, goth or emo but still keep a lot of induviduality?

If you want to be like every other number out there, wear jeans, trainers and a brand jacket. I went through the same thing years back - some people don't like "different", and they're either jealous/ scared of people who aren't clones.

Take inspiration from designers like Vivienne westwood, wear a cracking pair of boots with your normal black and colour, whatever, just have confidence in yourself - if those people don't like who you appear to be, i'm sure that many more would love to get to know you!

Since you are so pale with black hair maybe you should consider lightening your hair. There is a special hair dye that Lorel Preference puts out that is specially made for people with natural dark hair. You can buy it at any store that sells hairdye like Wal-mart, Target.....

Whatever your style is you need to wear it with confidence. Working on your confidence would make a world of difference.

this summer i started an *extreme* diet (only salad per day) and when school started my hair became veryy thin...everytime i brush it , my brush is full of hair, and when i take a shower the same thing happens!

i decided to cut it really short (victoria becham style) and wait till it grows back!

what happened to my hair??

will it ever grow back?

p.s i started straighten it at age 13 1/2....now i'm 16

I think it's a combination of two factors:

1. Diet (as you well know). It's one thing to diet if you are obese, but I sense that you only see a fat girl in the mirror, and that no one else sees you as overweight. This is an issue you need to resolve on your own, but I think you know the answer. Trust me, when you are 40, you will look like your Mother, so get used to it. It's genetics. Pretty is how you feel about yourself.

2. Stress - What is bothering you (we know...) - identify the root cause. More importantly, how do you deal with it? Communication, exercise, FOOD (in moderation),and medical supervision.

You know what to do - be brave and give yourself the respect you deserve. You're worth it.

It's your diet. It's obviously too extreme. You need more calories. Take some multi-vitamins and/or eat better. Good luck.

It sounds like it could be malnutrition or a deficiency of some sort. I would go to a doctor to make sure all of your levels are good. And, don't do any more extreme dieting. It may work in the short term but it reeks havok on your body and may cause problems in the long term. You are much better off to eat several small meals a day that are balanced.

2) the hair care products you use are not good for your hair.

3) the diet took a toll on your hair which is common

you shouldn't be on extreme diets at this age. just regular activity everyday is good enough to stay healthy. Most likely the diet you've chosen has caused your hair to fall out.

My sister-in-law was on an extreme, rigid diet and the same thing happened to her. Once she started a more sensible diet, eg. all of the basic food groups, but in moderation, she was fine and her hair grew back just as thick as ever. You need protein in your diet not just salad. Eat whole grains, lots of fruit and vegetables, and plenty of water. You may want to start taking a multi-vitamin every day. Once you have your diet back in balance your metabolism will re-set itself and you will start to see the differences in your hair. Also strong chemicals such as you use to straighten your hair, on top of a strict diet will also contribute to hair breakage and loss. VO5 hot oil treatments will work wonders for dry damaged hair.

Hair is protein, when you started the diet your body stopped producing that protein because your diet lacked the proteins needed to make hair.

Once you are back to a normal diet with the proper amounts of protein your hair will grow back. Also the stress of loosing your hair this way may add to it, so don't stress and just let it grow back by keeping a wellbalanced diet.

It seems that the answer is your diet. there are a couple other possibitlies that could cause this but looks like the most obvious answer seems to be your diet.

you should go back to just eating what you used to eat. eat what you are eat. dont starve yourself. fruits, veggies, little sweets here and there...just come up with a health balanced nutrition diet and you will be fine! but eat more than just a sald per day.

I straighten my hair everyday because I really hate my natural hair, I would leave it natural but it isn't curly, wavy or straight, but it's the closest the straight out of them all but doesn't look nice..

I want to stop straightening it as much because I don't want to wreck my hair and I hate having it in a ponytail and straight everyday, because when I have it down it flicks at the end because it is up to my shoulders and I think that's why it makes it flick because it rests against my shoulders all day.

I have tried it in plaits but I have layers so all the layers just poke out everywhere and it's not that long so I don't know what styles I can use.

Anyone have any ideas of what I can do for a change? I don't want to get it cut, I'm trying to grow it but in the meantime I need some different ways to have my hair!

Instead of straightening it, when you blow dry your hair use a paddle brush or better a comb and dry hair from the top down while combing through at the same time.

My hair is straight but not 'perfectly' straight. When I do this I get the same effects as using straighteners. (I do sometimes put some big rollers around the crown of my head with a little thickening and lifting spray there so that I still have some volume to my hair, but the rest of it is perfectly straight)

If you do want to put it up then I would recommend a messy bun. That way your layers won't matter if they stick out (plus it's easy to do!)

You can glam it up for the evenings too by popping a couple of sparkly hair accessories in there (or if you're good with your hair you can thread a short necklace into the bun which can look fabulous)

what you can do is get a straightneing spray one that you spray in your hair that might help straighten it and use a heat active spray so your hair doesnt damage as much w=hen you straighten is.

I have a short croppy hair do because of a bad straightener that melted my hair. I got depressed and got great lengths extensions from above my ears down (not on the top or bangs). My bangs were short and are now down to my eyebrows and the top seems to be growing too. I'm able to dry and style that no problem, but the extensions are another story. If I blowdry and use a curling iron or flat iron all over, they look okay (or if I pull them back in a barette), but if I just dry and brush - total frizz and see-through thinness. They're layered and naturally curly to match the top of my hair, but they are harder to style than ANY hairstyle i've EVER had. I tried letting them dry out this morning. I got tired of waiting and blowdried once they were almost dry, and they were still frizzy and yuck. They won't airdry - they just stay wet looking in little clumps. I hate being so vain and having to style these things with heat tools every day. Is that crazy?? Anyone have these too?

I have seen products at Sallys that are made just for extensions. So that they keep their good look and don't get damaged by hot tools. Try asking at you salon if they have any products like that.

mines isnt long and straight!! it's short choppy and with a fringe that seems to be the fashion right now! it is naturally straight and wont hold a curl at all when its longer!!! I think curly hair is pretty! :) I have wavy, frizzy hair, so I have to straighten it after I wash it just to get rid of the frizz! It just makes it more manageable. Sometimes I curl it with tongs though-I like to change my style x

i recommend french curls! they look awesome with thick hair :) if your hair is wavy, maybe straighten it a bit first, then put your hair into the curling iron at a parallel angle (facing down vertically more though) and wrap your hair around. they turn out very pretty

It depends if your family is either formal or easy going...Formal: Either a brown/gold/dark red skirt, a brown cami with a sweater or cover up, and some cute heels. But if your just easy going go with a nice pair of jeans, a fallish shirt thats about elobow length....DEFINATELY go with curly hair!

Try blow-drying it, and instead of straighting it with a flat iron, just put some no-frizz serum in it. That should produce some natural wave...

Another thing, try using the edge of the flat iron to flip the hair away from your face like her's does.

There are so many options I'm just not sure what type/style I should have for my hair. My hair doesn't really blowdry well, it gets very frizzy/poofy even on a low heat setting and I don't hold it too close or in one spot. I am currently growing my relaxer out. My last relaxer was May of 06. I currently get my hair straightened with a blowdryer and flat iron by my hair dresser every two weeks. I am debating going back to having a relaxer because my hair seemed like it was more versatile then because my "edges" go back curly within 3-4 days. I don't want to cut my hair and wear a short natural, but I don't know of any natural hair styles for longer hair. My natural hair is about 8-10 inches long. My texture is 4A. Any suggestions?

Since you already have 8-10 inches of natural hair, you could probably cut it now and go all natural. It should be long enough to at least put into a ponytail.

There are a number of styles that you can do with longer hair. Because your hair is a little curlier than 4b, you probably but a good pomade or setting lotion on after washing your hair, and get a nice curly look. You can do twists, and style them in various way, just as you would box braids. You can do flat twists, cornrows, and ponytails. I'd start with the basic 2 strand twist, and explore that option, and go from there. Go get your hair relaxed at a good salon and get a straightener and curling iron. Use a good straightening shampoo as well, it won't really make your hair straight but it will make it smoother or use anti-frizz shampoo. Try Redken anti-frizz products.

Ugh. I'm right there with ya. I'm black and German.

What I do is I put leave in conditioner in it as much as I can. Since your hair is dry I wouldn't recommend shampooing it everyday cuz shampoo dries out hair.

Try getting some frizz serum when you wanna weat your hair out. I usually wash mine's and put mousse on it when I wanna wear it curly.

Whenever its not curly I straighten it. Get a thin straightening iron because these work better. They stay hot and get hot quick. Then go to a good hair shop (like Sally's) and look around for a heat protectant spray or you could ask for other products up there. And theres never any harm in asking a hair professional at a salon.

I am mixed also. And what I do is, I wet my hair when I am in the shower.Then when I get out I twist it in a ponytail to get all the water out. Wrap it up in a towel and let it dry a little. Then put about two good handful's of conditioner in my hair. Then I comb out the nap's.LOL. I try to use good conditioner. I like Panteen in the brown bottle. I part my hair into section's and twist into loose bun. Then I blow dry on medium. When I feel it's dry. I take out hair and style. Sometime's I blowdry and style without the bun action. It is up to you. It help's me. I also use sauve when it is on sell, it work's as well. This is only if you want the curly action without the frizz and stikyness! Hope it work's, Good Luck

Use this product called Mixed Chicks. They have a shampoo, deep conditioner, and leave in conditioner that will define your curls and make your hair soft. Or use Aveda Shampure shampoo followed by Aveda Cherry almond bark conditioner mixed with a little Aveda deep penetrating revitalizer. After you shampoo, mix the conditioners in your hand and put it in your hair, brush your hair out with a D4 Denman brush (perfect for curly hair) then pull it up in a clip and finish showering, shaving, singing in the shower, whatever. Then turn the cold water on but on low pressure and rinse the conditioner out. Towel dry your hair, then put some John Frieda Frizz Eaze Serum into your wet hair followed by some John Frieda Take Charge Styling mousse. Its sort of like when you put the conditioner and gel in it but it wont be as frizzy, and it wont be sticky because the mousse is very light. And because you put the hair serum in before the mousse it wont be all hardlike some mousse makes your hair. Its quite a routine but it works for me. I too have frizzy, curly, poofy, dry looking hair and I use Aveda because it brings out my curls, its all natural and it smells good. I do both the aveda and the mixed chicks, I kinda alternate every time I wash my hair which is usually twice a week. Good luck.

Why don't you try the Macy Gray hair? I've always thought that looks cute and modern on black girls. You just have to dress girly so you don't look like a guy. Or you could do thin dreadlocks as long as you get them done regularly to keep them clean and neat.

kinky twist. although they are somewhat a form of extension, it is nothing like micros or weaves. the type of hair that is used is called marley hair. the stylist will part your hair (very similiar to how micros are done) but instead of braiding they will twist it, like a fashionable type of locs. I had some for about 2months, they last a nice while dependin on how you take care of them. %26amp; my hair grew tremendously when i took them out.

Are they just for little girls? I have naturally curly hair. But I want softer, more organized curls. My hair is very soft, but styles very well. I don't want to straighten it then re-curl it (my hair does not react well to blow drying - it dries out quickly). So I was thinking about foam rollers at night. Has anyone had any experience with them?

In the morning, when you get out of the shower, Try to put some mousse or gel, in your hair, and finish the style with hairspray, and see how it turns out. Experiment with your hair.

I would try velcro rollers in the morning. Make sure your hair is dry and put them in, blast with blow dryer for a few min and then let cool. Unroll them carefully though, if you pull it causes lots of frizz. I know you said your hair doesn't do well with blow dryers but just don't over do it, just enough to warm the rollers up. Hope this helps.

best to try sleeping in salon type plastic mesh rollers with a net tied around them will give you better results than foam but will be a bit uncomfortable to sleep with at first until you get used to them

i know what you are saying. if you only want some wave so your hair is not straight then use the large rod. it gives you just enough something so your hair is not stick straight but has body plus if you want to curl it then it will hold. the thing with the perm and the curl is all in the size rod you use. maybe you could get your hairdresser to alternate rods, large, medium, large medium....etc. just remember the smaller the rod the more curl you get and no one wants to be a poodle head. i use medium and large rods in my perm and it is perfect. i can wash it, mouuse it, scrunch it and go, or i can use my hot curlers or curling iron and it holds. which is miraculous if you only knew my hair. lol so give that a try. and good luck. hope you love your hair afterwards like i love mine. also, your hairdresser may want to test part of your hair first to see what type perm is good for your hair. acid or alkaline.....that was my problem for years. i always had an alkaline perm and wondered what the hell happened to my head so i switched hair dressers and she used an acid perm on my hair and voila..........perfect.

easily. Over the past 2 years, I've had a lot of highlights and a total of two straighteners, and my hair got BAD damaged, so I had to get it cut short and in layers to grow it back out. Since it's so short and still has some of the straightener in parts of it, I have to style it daily to make it look presentable. I can get over this, but I'm 33 years old and wondered if it will grow back out full looking like it used to be or will it continue to be thin looking due to the straighteners and damage? I'm hoping the roots will grow back in like my hair used to be, but at my age, is it hopeless to even wish for that???

Usually these are extensions. But you can use those bendable curlers, the ones that look like sticks or even steam curlers. Then just use your fingers to shape them, not a brush. i would suggest you using a 1 inch curling iron and spray it slightly with a lite hot spray styling spray before winding it around the barrel now don't torture yourself and sleep in rollers besides you will get a fussy look then when you are done curling it use a pick and pick it out -you may also consider a body wave with a large rod like purple and Grey if you like it styled with the hot iron---u c the body wave will make the curl last longer and it will adhere to your hair better and curl more quickly--stylist here many yrs

the easiest way is not with rollers. that usually requires gel and its a headache to sleep with them on. all you need is a thin flat iron.. you pull a piece through the flat iron but when you get near the ends flip the iron over with your hair still in it and pull it very slowly. it should make a loose curl at the ends.

omg i sorta have the same problem. i hated my hair, so i used to straighten it EVERYDAY. i just got sick of it after a while, so i use sunsilk and garnier products to bring out the curl in my hair. garnier has a buncha products for curly hair (mousse, gels, sprays). i like the ultra strong "hard curl" gel. i only put a little bit in (about the size of a quarter) just so the curls keep their shape. im gonna try to mousse also. sunsilk also has a creme and shampoo/conditioner for curly/frizzy hair. i use a little bit of the creme. DONT blow dry ur hair (or use a diffuser if u HAVE to) i only straighten my hair like once a week now. good luck!

My hair is very curly too - and if I don't do anything - it's a freakin fuzz ball!!! To tame it - and it looks great - I get out of the shower - pick through it - toss it about - and then I spritz it all over. Use a light spritz - nothing that's too heavy or gets sticky. I use Salon Care from Sally Beauty Supply. I then let my hair air dry for about 30 minutes or so, while I'm putting on makeup and watching tv. I then blowdry it the rest of the way. It turns out nice and curly, but not frizzy. Hope this works for you!

try a gel perm...its the exact opposite of perming your hair... My cousin did it and she has curly/frizzy hair and it made it so much easier. She's had it for a year and 3 months all she does is blow out the roots. It did cost about $90-100 though.

I have dark, shoulder length, big, loose corkscrew curls. (Think of the effect a curling iron has, only it's natural). I usually style my hair 1940's style wavy, but my guy friend recently remarked that my hair was a lot prettier the curly way. Which is usually preferable? (If you want to say "bald" or "neither" don't even bother replying)

Just a tip: My sister makes her curls look cool by twisting them when they are wet, so they dry with an even bigger curl, but no frizz. You should try it. Looks fun.

well when ur younger ur hair grows nice n faster b/c of the exercise n deit u've grown up with...i had the same problem u have i use to have long hair down where my bra strap is and i choped it to ear length and it took awhile to grow back...but now its past my clavical...took 2yrs to find the best way to grow it back...what i do is i use oil base condionter n shampoo and precondition my hair b4 i wash it like hot oil treatments or put cond. on the ends of my hair then i wash it and i leave a lil put of cond. on the ends to keep it perfect from the heat n also from brushin it like crazy..i also take prenatal vitamins which help b/c of the folic aicd and vitamin b...also just trim the ends where u see a split end not to much just enough so it won't go ne higher...if u try this method it should help the hair to come back nice b/c i told my friend the same thing n she can't stop tellin me thank u

I'm absolutely clueless, so help! I have a small forehead (a "three-and-a-half-head" if you will...) and a round face. I'm also chubby. My normal texture for my hair is a mix between wavy and curly, it's thick and dry, and right now it's fairly long. I want something trendy, but not so short. I also don't mind styling it everyday. okay well i have wavy/ curly hair also and i actually wouldnt suggest layers. on those days where you dont style it, or get out of a pool and let it air dry, it doesnt look good. i wold suggest going long,and maybe layers but like really really unexaggerated layers. and getting bangs that are right below your eyes that you can out to the side. they are easy to style, (so even if your in a hurry you can do them) or you can clip them back and add a little poof and theyll look nice.

First I would get a haircut that accentuates your face, by pulling your hair back like that you pull your face down. You have such a pretty face, show it off! As far as color I would go with a deep rich blonde on the verge of brown, your skin tone would accept that color nicely! When it come to the wardrobe don't go for slutty to show off your curves. Find something that is slimming in the waist and it will automatically accentuate the top. Don't go too low cut though, keep them guessing. Wear pants that fit, not too tight, not too loose. Wear them on your waist, not below, no one wants to get a full moon! A nice pair of jeans and a pretty shirt along with some kickin' shoes and that's your ticket! I think with your green eyes that you should keep the auburn hair... just add blonde streaks in it. Also maybe wear it down and get it straightened. As for enhancing your bust.. you should go to a Victoria Secrets or a store that gives free bra fittings... make sure you are in the right size bra. Then get a push up or padded bra. Also try a sleevless, fitted shirt that has a narrow v-neck. Stay away from big, flowy blouses with big prints.

Get some straighteners and straighten it and wear it nicely down i dont recommend blonde becuase from the picture yoor skin is a pinky tone and it will look ugly i suggest a dark brown colour no lighter than a chocolate colour.

Well, I would go for a darker hair color actually. Not really dark or you will look washed out. Light brown maybe? Congrats on losing the weight by the way! Oh, keep your hair red! It's so pretty!!! Maybe straighten it if you want a new look. I reccomend a Chi straightener, if you can't afford that, try a Revlon, gold plated 2 inch straightener (less than 20, works great on curly/ frizzy hair)

I asked what to do with my hair a while back, but now it's even worse! I have (now) shoulder length, brown hair, that is WILD! It's straight at the top, wavy in the middle, and curly at the bottom. The most important fact is that IT'S VERY VERY THICK AND POOFY!!!!! If I put it in a ponytail, it looks weird cause my hair is short, and poofs up. If I leave it open, it poofs and is very, very thick. I can't put it in a braid, because my hair is too short!! What I usually do is put it in a half-up half-down style and I straighten it with a flat iron. But, my mom said it will ruin my hair, and when I grow up (I'm only 11) it will be ruined! HELP ME!!!!!

if i were you, i would go to the beauty salon and have the hair dresser thin out some of my hair. that would take care of some of the thick poofiness. also you can have your hair chemically straightened and it is hard on your hair but in the long run its alot better than using the flat iron on it everyday! i had this done to my hair and it does work. just use good conditioners on it (TIGI hair products have some good ones). keep your hair trimmed about every 2 to 3 months as well.

My hair is like that too, but longer! What I is I bought a Chromatic straightener, don't buy Conair! They don't work well and don't last long! After your hair is clean and dry put 1/3 of your hair in a ponny tail, and straighten it and then the next 1/3 and so on until your whole head it straight, this will make your hair all straight, it looks really good and your hair will look thin and not poofy!

I personally have VERY thick hair where the back is wavy/curly and the top is mostly straight. I had my stylist thin it out alot with a TON of layers. It looks good blow dried straight or blow dried with a diffuser and touched up with a curling iron for some messy waves.

You need to find a good hair stylist that will help you transition your hair to a longer cut with some long layers. Longer, thick hair will be alot easier to take care of. You will also need to use the correct products for you hair and a stylist will help you select the correct ones and show you how to use them. I wish I could give you more specific advice but without seeing your hair its difficult.

Remember....work with your hair and it will look great! Dont work against it and try to make it look like something totally different....it will look twice as bad. Long, flat-ironed hair may be "in" at your school but if you're fighting with your hair and still not acheiving that look you're lookin' crazy. Thick poofy hair may seem crazy but stylists usually love it because you can get it to do so many different things!

Flat-ironing your hair every day WILL damage your hair but you can drastically reduce how much damage you cause by using products that protect it from heat.

I dont know if her hair is naturally curly or not but I'd like to acheive that style with my straight hair once its long enough, anyone know how? I think the best way to do this style (this is how I do my long hair) is to get a few long layers cut in it, but not too much because your hair will be shorter when it's curled up. Then use a curling iron with a medium barrel (like 1 1/2 inches) and curl random sections in different directions (don't curl up by your roots, start halfway down) and finger-comb through them to make them kind of messy and blended, then spray them with something strong to hold the shape.

Getting your hair permenantly straightened shouldn't change your hair color, but it could damage your hair. If all the coloring you've ever done is some caramel streaks, it shouldn't be too bad. If you've done lots of coloring, especially blonde or colors a lot lighter than your natural color, the perm will damage your hair a bit. Ask your stylist if they can give you a deep-conditioning treatment afterwards, or if they can reccomend any good storebought ones.

You should get a triangle cut which is shorter in the back but longer on the sides, it looks really cool, then if you get sick of it you can just get the sides cut into the same length as the back. Or even an asymetrical cut - one side longer than the other.

Also, there are hair colors that are not permanent that you could experiment with so that you are not stuck with one color all the time and it is safer for your hair.

Maybe I'm wrong but isn't being a 'skater chick' about being yourself? I'd look for some hairstyles that you like. For example if you read skater magazines- I bet ads or pro skaters have some cool styles. Take your natural texture into account. Everyone has to do something to their hair to make it look good but you shouldn't have to completely change. Look for a stylist who works with your texture (a good hint - he/she will probably be wearing that same hair type as well. most good salons have websites). Take the pictures and discuss what you are looking for. A good stylist will account for what you want, your face shape, your natural texture and your coloring. With a bit of preparation and a good stylist, I'm sure you can get what you are looking for :) Good luck

yeah, straightend always looks cool. i like braids also though, maybe try getting highlights (just don't go "bride of frankenstein" haha). it sounds like you haven't tried straightening yet tho, you should try that, although, i imagine its murder on your hair, as most chemical treatments are, but there are lots of different things you can do w/ straight hair that you can't w/ curly. :)

you can wear your hair with loose curls, flat iron it straight with a ceramic flat iron, maybe some twists, or braids. there are alot of options besides getting a perm. if you are going to go for the straight look wrap your hair at night and use a silk scarf so when you wake up all you have to do is comb it down and it eliminates the need to curl it because the wrapping process creates a curl look and it adds body. good luck

You have to find a hairdresser who can do the "cut." Depending on where you live, that is like finding a needle in a haystack. Literally. Do you have a picture that you can take with you when you go for the hair cut? That will give the person cutting your hair an idea of what you want. However, you probably won't get exactly what you want, but maybe something similar. Familiarize yourself on hair-cutting terms. Get on the phone and just start calling around to Hair Cutting Salons and asking if they have anyone who can cut hair like you want it done. They will say..... "of course we can do anything!" Ask what the age of the person is who will be cutting your hair. Try to get a young girl. B/c they will try to "con" you to get your $15.00. Do a lot of research and maybe visit the salon and meet the girl before commiting yourself.

AS far as the level of heat, if you have an iron from somwehre like walmart, it's probably not getting hot enough. Sally's and some online stores have some that get up to like 350 degrees.

If you have or get an iron that gets that hot and it still reverts when you walk outside, it's time to face it, there is nothing you can do lol. I have this same type of hair that won't straighten very straight and will snap back as soon as i feel humidity or sweat. I just deal with what I got and stop fighting it. A cute hairstyle i like to try... don't know if it will work because i don't know how long your hair is but here is how you do it....

bring 1/2 your hair up but DON'T use a brush when you pull it back just go by your ears and pull it back from there. let it look like its bumpy and not perfect or even or w/e. then take a pony tail and wrap it around the pony tail once... the 2nd time only due it 1/2 way and then wrap it around again so that it kinda makes a messed up/upside down bun. then with the hair that is down... curl it or straighten it.

another cute way that i kinda just do my hair on mornings that i am running late... if my hair is straight then i kinda do a simple messy french braid in the back. you don't start at the top... just above where your hair is on the back of your hair (you don't really have to french braid) just start there with a regular braid then braid til the end.. if your hair is long enough... do it at kinda an angle so you can let it hang over one shoulder... do it loose cause then its really cute!!

i forgot to mention this... but you should get your hair cut to your shoulders or a lil longer and get layers. That way... its easier to deal with, thinner and you can still put it in a cute ponytail when you want to :). That is how my hair is now! I just don't like taking the time before school to do my hair all cute and stuff. And i play golf so its always in a ponytail for that. Anyway.... just a cute haircut idea.

I like curly hair too. Buy a curling iron to curl it, go to target and get a cheap one i use a 5dollar one from claires. You can curl it with a straightener too, you just put your hair in the straightener holding the straightener horizonily. THen you twisht your hair around the straightener and it should come out curly, or if your patient and this is old school, buy those really cheap sleep in curlers, the kind you just pin your hair in and go to bed then wake up with cure curly hair. I like wearing your hair in a half up with your bangs back, by the way bangs are a must for cute hair. Also curl your pony tail for a preppy cheerleader look. I think your hair should look fine if you just straighten it and wear it all down, just make sure you dont have your hair plastered to your head so dont use hairspray, try gloss instead. Good luck

Well, if you have extremely or kind of thick hair, get it cut and layered. And get it cut short enough where you CAN'T put it in a ponytail. Then, if you want it curled or waved naturally, use gel or mousse and scrunch your hair. If you want to curl it, just use a good curling iron (Conair is good). I have thick, wavy hair too, and I always wanted my straight. Since I don't look good with short hair, I wore it pretty long, and usually pulled back in a ponytail. If I wore my hair down, I usually washed it, and just let it air dry. I never brushed or combed my hair when I wore it this way. It is so curly that it will dry with ringlets in places.

I finally gave in and got a shoulder length cut, and bought a straightening iron. I bought one for about $28.00 that has ceramic plates on it, made by Revlon or Conair.

I liked the style so much I got it cut just a little shorter a couple months later, to just below chin length. It only takes me about 5 or 10 minutes to run the straightener thru it, and this smoothes out the waves and improves the overall appearance. The haircut and change of style was one of the best things I did for myself!

-Read the book and visit the sites below about curly/wavy hair. I did and my once horrible curly hair is now virtually frizz-free ringlets. Now I get compliments on my hair all the time! Straighten your hair- be happy for a day, learn to manage your wavy hair- be happy for life!

-Use a shampoo low in sulfates or one that contains none at all such as Devacurl's low poo. Some health food store have organic shampoos with no sulfates also. Sulfates dry out wavy/curly hair- it can be found in laundry detergent!!

- Use a small amount of shampoo (every couple days) on scalp as normal and rinse. Then spread conditioner on the outside layer of hair and the hair at the nape of your neck. Gently comb tangles out with your fingers or a wide toothed comb and rinse with cold/cool water.

- Do not brush/comb your hair after this point because it wil disturb the curl pattern (make sure you already have a part). It is also important to use gel on sopping wet hair and scrunch the hair with your fingers. Use a towel or paper towels to gently scrunch some of the water out. Then let your hair air dry or wait ten minutes and then use a blowdryer with a diffuser. Do not touch the hair while it is air drying or it will frizz!

- Experiment with different products because everyone's hair is different. I would reccomend a light hold gel and a leave in cream or condtioner. Use a moisturizing conditioner, such as Desert Essence Organics Italian Red Grape Conditioner (found at health food/organic stores). The combo of products that I use daily is Garnier Fuctis Sleek and Shine Leave In Cream and Aussie Tizz No Frizz Gel, but there are more conditioners, gels, etc. on the websites.

- Your hair may seem worse at first, but it is just adjusting. This takes 2 to 4 weeks begin working.This is hard to do if you don't read the book, or at least visit the websites. Naturally wavy hair can be beautiful! Hope this helps!

omg, I have the same hair as u! ahahah. I find the best thing to do is go get a scene hair cut- yes I know that sounds very lame- but just don't spike it all up and ****. With all the different layers, you can braid your hair, put it in a pony tail or a messy bun, and it always comes out looking pretty good. =] hope that helps.

what i like to do when im in a hurry is tie most of my hair in a loose pony tail so that i get my long hair out of the way --and then blow dry with a round brush my short layers on top--once im done i let loose my pony tail and let it dry naturally while i get ready so that it has more shape and lots of volume--it looks like spent hours when i spent minutes:)

my hair is thick and very super curly!

its frizzy and sorta dry.

i use all professional products, but i wanna save some money so i need to know the best products that you can get from a drug store or like target.

right now my scalp is realy dry and sorta flakey, its not dandruff, i think its just dry from product build up , swimming , and straightening it. i wanna try a dandruff shampoo though because ive heard of them being good for moisturizing your hair. it would also be helpful if the product reduced frizz and poofyness. let me kno if you have any idea of good shampoos , conditioners , and styling aids.

To help your dandruff- Head and shoulders or any store brand shampoo with 'pyrithione zinc' as a main ingredient. some other tips are, brushing your hair with a natural boar bristle brush from scalp to ends (it helps to free any flakes and brings your natural oil out of your scalp to your hair) and blow dry your hair instead of letting it air dry. A good conditioner-try a light more liquid conditioner..Watch out! Avoid conditioners with protein, they make your hair silky, but they also coat your hair with a layer of protein, making feel and look even thicker than it is. A good styling aid-Pomade and super hold gel. Gel will allow you to scrunch your hair, or diffuse it upside down for maximum curl, pomade will give it a little shine and tame the fly-away curls. Mix gel with a small amount of pomade when your hair is wet and VIOLA! hope this helped!

do you have a beauty supply warehouse in your town? we have one in las vegas you can buy in bulk in those kinds of shops and its cheap. i use a blow dryer diffuser. they have frizz serums depending on which one you get those are not really expensive- check when they have sales on there products sometimes walgreens has like 3 for $10 on got- to-be products

The Charles Worthington line is available at Walgreens works great!!! Especially the spray gel. Use a little while hair is still damp and it'll tame the frizzies. Also Frizz Ease serum is good. But just use a little! And try a clarifying shampoo to get all the residue from your styling products out!

It's so important to buy the right product for your hair. As a strengthening agent I really suggest you start on a good dose (for 3months) of Silicea (mineral gel) which is a specific supplement for hair, and then go and see a professional in a hair salon (or speak to your hairdresser) because she knows your hair best. I would definitely not reccomend Head and Shoulders...especially if you're going to save, Paul Mitchell, Redken and Kerastase are good brands, but it really depends on what your hair is like. I'd also recommend buying a leave in treatment to do at home every 3-4 weeks.

First: Purchase a mild Shampoo (To Clarify hair, I will explain why)

Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches)

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a "little" honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

Use a teaspoon of every oil and honey,.... a little more if ur hair is long or a little less if ur hair is short

Repeat this 3-4 times a week, your hair will grow like a weed, fortify, reconstruct, moisturize, soften %26amp; remove all frizz I promise,..... and it will be super shiny!!!!

The clairifying shampoo will help take the oil off your hair when u shower

You can also use a conditioner but get a light conditioner that wont wiegh ur hair down, becuz u can over condition, I use herbl essences "clean happy" conditioner.

When I do this at nite, I wake up, shampoo %26amp; condition, rinse and style as usual. Has worked for years

You can find olive oil anywere, but the other oils you will have to buy at a local organics store, wholes foods or BJ's health corner.

I have been searching everywhere for the older style heated rollers. I am looking for the ones with the spokes on them to hold my thick, long and curly hair. My Mum had a set from the 70's and they were great for me. All I can find in stores and on the net are the felt type ones. Help!! $ no object! I'm in QLD Australia.

I think Remington make the sort of rollers you are looking for. I bought a set a couple of months ago, I think they cost me around $40 and I found them at Target. The ones I bought are in an oval-shaped plastic container and have about 20 rollers of different sizes.

if its almost to your knees, try straightening it, but be patient with hair that long it would take a while. use hot curlers to flip the bottoms, but only wrap hair around the hot curlers four times then clip. pull into a ponytail. twist ponytail. wrap around ponytail holder to form a circle. put a ponytail holder around it. if there are any lose strands curl them and put on dangly earrings.

I have straight hair and all I have ever had is body perms...as for the curl and how tight or lose the curl is.... it all depends on the size of rollers and the amount of time you leave the solution on when perming...less curl use larger rollers...more curl use smaller rollers...... this will be in the instructions......your hair will be curly to a degree.... that is what gives it the body...but you can pretty much style it till the curls are not really evident....until it is wet down again.....

Yes my hair was curly afterwards; and actually a little hard to manage, but it eventually calmed down and looked ok. I had a some wave in my hair so it wasn't like dealing with stick straight hair and it took very quickly tot the solution. Good luck - hope it works out for you

You will have curls with this treatment it is not so much for giving hair alot of body unless you straighten it everyday which is perpose defeting it is more of a mild form of perming. The curls will not be tight but you will have curls

My hair is hopeless. The color is dull. It's baby fine, but I have a ton of it. It's curly, but I've been trying to make a curly style work for 6 months and it still looks like $hit. I've never had a style that looks good on it. I just want different hair. How much would good extensions cost? How hard would it be to maintain?

Options: Change your hair color and get a layered cut or a geometric shape would look fab with curls. Like Color it honey blond in the front with a darker blonde or brown in the back couple with the geometrical shape.

Other than that, sweetie a good extension go, depending on the state runes anywhere between $300-500.00 to start on up! and could last (old fashion style Threading) ^ months or more especially if you take care of hair well. My hair is medium length and frizzy/wavy, if I don't style it. It actually looks great if I straighten it, but I know it's not good to straighten your hair more often than absolutely necessary (like for special occasions). So, I was wondering what some good alternatives might be...

I've tried ponytails (which I don't really like unless my hair is straight, defeating the purpose of the ponytail-otherwise, it just looks like frizziness); buns (work, but seem so boring); the curly (just add gel, foam, etc. +air dry /diffuser) look but it still has too much poof...

Perhaps, I'm just not using the right products??

Also, I'm an athlete, so I often have to take two showers/day, since I workout twice a day...which could explain some of the frizziness...

I could really use some advice with this one!!! Thanks!!!

I have the same hair. Get the book Curly Girl and follow it's advice. My stylist turned me on to it and it changed everything for me - how I wash, cut and style my hair and what products I use. I don't have frizz anymore and I don't bother straightening anymore. Just lots of soft curls. And it's a fun book to read.

I am also an athlete and shower a lot. Yes, there is a way to deal with that. The book recommends washing your hair with conditioner. I was scared at first, but no, I don't have greasy hair. It is soft, clean and curly with no frizz, just like the book said. It has changed everything.

Eye Shadow:

Apply colours in diagonal lines that slant up towards the outer corners of your eyes,,,

Blush:

Apply blush in a straight line along the cheeckbones.

Lipstick:

Create a wider,slightly narrower mouth when lining your lips

Use a highlighter (or shine gloss) along the top of the cheeckbone to create angles

Asymmetric partings and fringes look gr8

while a light,feathered style will break up the fullness of the face.

personally orange streaks aren't my thing-but if u really want the orange go ahead. i don't know if the orange will look right with the texture of the hair tho. if u want 2 do something different w/ ur hair just get regular light and dark highlights to add color and bring out the natural dimension of your curls

why cant you straighen it???? they have chemical(eck i know) straigheners that can condition also...if your hair is like mine it wont be straight as a bone but will be relaxed and easier to deal with..... try leave in conditioner or straighener stylers.... hot curlers, a blow dryer and brus, a ceramic straightener all things to straighten your hair....then you can pay like 20 bucks for that thing that will put color streaks in your hair. I hear dr miracles is good to use i havent used it yet...but since you have that kinda hair you might have to use ethnic(gasp oh my) hair care stuff so try checkin out that section inthe stores or look on dr miracles site

my hair is extremely long and i love it like that(mid back)...my question is what are some styles/haircuts i can do to spice things up....

normally i either straigten it and wear it down, or sometimes i will wear it curly and down. on bad days its up in a bun. what are some other ways to syle it?? bobby pins are my bffs!!

ive been growing my hair for nearly a year now and its getting quite long, now it is long im sick of it. Typical girl i know. im thinking of going for quite a straight short style, its half way down my back and naturally very curly at the min. only thing is my boyfriend said he wont like it and that he doesnt likle my hair straight. should i have it done and take the risk that he wont like it or should i just have a trim?

don't do it for your boyfriend if you like it and it makes you feel good then do it ... there's other things you can do to make it different aswell ... dye it another colour (try semi perm ones to just experiment) or add highlights and/or lowlights ... make the curls softer so it's more wavy ... that's a compromise between curly and straight hair. you could try other things such as adding a fringe, getting layers or having your hair feathered. cutting your hair short after having it long can be a dramatic difference so trim it and see what you think before cutting it all off.

Look i'm a bit of worry grots, but you gotta say a girl does it her way!

I get up in the morning at the time is usaully 6:00 or 8:30 am.

i have a shower , use my shampoos and shower gel also my face scrub.

I get out of the shower get tried. and start drying my hair with my towel , because its curly and dries natrually on its own.

start using my body spray and prefume and then i style my hair.

I pack my bag which has my toilet bag full of (tampons , pads , liners ETC) my phone , purse and keys.

i get dressed and go practice my dance moves or go for a run with my dad.

you don't need to shampoo everyday, and facial scrubs, shower gels and body sprays can dry your skin of its natural oils.

nothing wrong with just basic soap and water, and avoiding all the perfumed stuff, unless it is a special occasion. Better for the environment as well as your body!

You are truly lucky to have curly hair, I myself have curly hair and when I was younger I didn't like my hair until I learned how to deal with it.I would like to see it down so I can see the length, and the type of curl you have. As far as your eyes some black mascara, don't use too much, and use black brown too sometimes. you have some uneven color skin tones and I see you have some red also in your skin.. I think ivory beige powder and foundation should help even out your skin tone. use natural looking lip gloss maybe with a hint of red or pink. You could try buying a chemical straightener at a local store or pharmacy. They are fairly easy to use, and last pretty long. It will help get the kinks out of your hair. After getting it straightened, I would get some nice highlights, and get it cut with long layers angled toward your face. Some nice side-part, wispy bangs would look nice too. It looks like your hair has some curl to it. Your a lucky girl! I think you would look great with a deeper brown hair color and a shorter cut to show off your curls. The brown will bring out your eyes and make your skin look flawless!

As for makeup, I would just do a concealer around the eyes and any problem areas. Then a powder to help keep your makeup on and then a warm brown color on your eyes. Then mascara and a peachy pink blush on your checks with some lip gloss would be a quick makeup routine for you. Hope this helps!

I have similar hair...it's wavy on top, with tight curls towards the front around my face. Also, it's really, really, really frizzy and fragile. Even though I have dirty blonde hair, I'm a mix, so my hair kind of has a texture between ebony/Indian/caucasion.

The best thing I have found to do is blow dry it with a smoothing cream (I like Redken Outshine 01 anti-frizz polishing milk). Once it's been blow-dried, spray some heat-protector in your hair and let it dry. Iron small 1-inch sections flat. I find I can do this 3 times a week without too much damage. Hope this helps!

mine is sort of the same. I am VERY guilty of abusing salon blowouts to make it straight. But on other days, I use the pink colored sunsilk conditioner, frizz ease serum, and water based wax at the ends. Also, if your hair is long, you can trying rolling it into 2 buns (1 on each side of your head) before you go to sleep. In the morning you have tame waves. good luck

I've had several kinds of hair from wavy to straight to super naturally curly over my life as I've been off and on of chemo for several years and every time I do, I end up with a different hair type. My last doc recommended Dove shampoos and conditioners as they are gentle on hair. I'm not sure if it'll "tame" your hair though. Is your hair very long? If it is, it sounds like a good cut would make everything curly if you're ok with that. It sounds like the top is being weighed down, therefore wavy, whereas there is nothing to weigh down the ends, and therefore they are curly. If you wanna go curly, just try some mousse, flip your hair upsidedown and blow it dry that way, scrunching it with your hands as you go. Also, I've had that if you have curly hair, the best thing to do is not to comb it, but rather just pick through it with your hands, otherwise you create frizz which none of us like. Happy styling!

u can try blowing it out straight, like setting your blowdryer on low and getting a barrel brush then taking thin medium strips of hair and pressing the dryer onto the brush and brush down like they do at the salon, i do this about 5 minutes after i get out of the shower, and before i go to sleep

Hiya, it's a great hairstyle. Are you wanting the colour as well as that it would require quite a bit of bleaching and would dry your hair out more. In a darker colour, your hair would constantly have shine. With the cut they may have to layer it a little at the ends as it wouldn't naturally curl under if you just went with a blunt bob. A bit of layering at the back and the long front would keep the style. Definitely take the picture with you. Also you may have to consider if you'd ever wear your hair curly would the cut still be easy to style. But I like it. Brilliant.

I'm a white female. My hair looks beautiful right after I take a shower, but when it dries; it seriously looks like a super curly and frizzy afro. I've been thinking about getting it straightened with a Japanese style straightener. But, if I get it done; will it only make my hair straight? I mean, it's no the curl that bothers me; it's the "poofyness" of my hair. Will it still be poofy if I get a Japanese chemical straightener put on it? And how bad will it damage my hair? The ends of my hair have a perm solution on them and my ends of my hair are still poofy. I have color on my hair.

All you need to do is apply a anti-frizzy serum on your hair when it's wet out the shower, and it'll lessen the frizz, also a shining serum when your hair is dry is good also.

if u mean getting it straight permed @ a salon (japanese or korean, usually called Magic Straight, or thermal reconditioning), then yes it will stay STICK STRAIGHT, just like ur wet hair, except it will dry like that. it's amazing... stays like that til the new hair grows out, then u have curly/wavy hair at the top and stick striaght hair below haha... if u have a straightener u can straighten the top, and then get a Retouch at the salon again.. so this runs around $150-300 every 6-8 months...but worth it if u can't stand fixing ur hair up all the time.

it does damage hair, so make sure u do not perm, color or anything to ur hair before or after!!!!! but it makes ur hair LOOK really healthy. good luck! i'm in the midst of getting it done again too.. i just hate waiting 3 hours for it to be finished!!!!!

If it is the Matrix hair straightening system, I would say go for it, I had thick unruly hair until 18months ago when I did my first treatment. I have since had very manageable, soft and almost frizz free hair (regrowth is usually poofy but easily tamed with flat iron until you go in for you next treatment)

My hair is still super shiny and strong and I have treated my hair three times in total.

You should check with your hairdresser first to determine if your hair can handle anymore processing given that you are growing out a perm and have had a colour done.

Don't be daunted by the price tag usually near $1000 for the first treatment but substantially less for repeat treatments. I repeat my treatment every 6 months or so.

I also recommend that if you do decide to do the japenese treatment that you buy the attendant shampoos, conditioners and other items from the line they are terrific for maintaining the saloon look.

My friend got that done a few years ago. She had the same type of hair that you are describing. The first time she did it, after a while it became a bit poofy again, but not even close to how it was before. Now that she has gotten it done again, it it a lot better, and truly stick straight.

I don't know if she just doesn't cut her hair often enough or she needs to use a better hydrating shampoo/conditioner, but she always has split ends, which got even worse after she gets it straightened.

If you ever want it curly for a special occasion after you get it permed straight, it might take a while to get it to actually stay curly. When my friend tried to curl her hair for our graduation, by the end of the night, only the very tips of her hair were still curly, but barely noticeably. Curling irons didn't help it stay on her hair, but it might work better for you.

The first time she did it was also very expensive, but every time after it was less expensive, probably because now it is already mostly straight, so it took less time to make it stay straight.

Good luck if you do straighten it, and make sure you tell the person who is doing the straightening that you have gotten it dyed before, because sometimes the chemicals don't react well, and if the person doing it for you knows, they can prevent a bad chemical reaction on you head.

I had it done, and now I want my hair back to the way it was before, but I still love having the straightener done....

I love it because its not thick like a gel, but it has a much stronger hold than any regular gel ive tried. I have curly hair, and this makes them even more curly, it gives definition to my spirals and my ringlets...it just i go through so much of it that 30 $ a bottle is ridiculous...any suggestions that have actually been tried? I have the same problem with only a little curl and lots of wave and frizz.. get layers in your hair.. also take a few inches off your hair.. get a good straightener (may cost over $100) but it will be worth it.. don't get thoughs steam ones.. they suck.. and for after a shower go out and buy a round brush.. a good one.. and after you are done your shower use that brush as you dry your hair with a hair dryer.. just get hair on the brush and brush and pull tight on the hair as you dry that section.. your hair will probably still be frizzy after but once you straighten it with your new good straightener it will work.. my mom owns a hair salon.. also go to a salon and get frizz control.. worked for me :)

What i do because i am extremely untalented with chopsticks i put my hair in a ponytail then, i grab a ponytail holder and then i grab my hair and swirl it around where i put it for the ponytail then i wrap the hair surrounding the ponytail with another ponytail holder, then get your two chopsticks and then place them in the circle bun.

Or you could do pig tail buns with chop sticks! Same principal with the single only you put one chopstick in one bun and the other in the other one......But there ya go!

french braid/ regular braid it right before going to bed (damp hair works really well, cause dry hair doesn't take shape easily) and don't open until the next morning. and that night put in defrizzing gel in, and don't brush it! it'll turn really curly and frizzy. just keep it the way it is, it's gonna look really cute. i do that alll the time. :] (the smaller the curls, the more braids you do. if you want large ones, do one huge braid. ta daaa!)

try putting some smoothing creme in it and letting it partially dry up in a pony then put some curl gel in it and diffuse it. or if you don't want to use an iron you could use rollers or twirl your hair up and let it dry with bobby pins. it all kind've depends on the length of your hair, but good luck!

I've got a solution, and you don't need to wet your hair OR use an iron.

Alll you have to do is:

Buy some styling foam. I prefer one that doesn't have added "glycerin" so it won't be sticky.

Divide hair into pieces (usually enough to wrap four fingers around)

Put foam on each section (one at a time) roll hair up with flexie rods ( or for a more loose curl, use a bigger "non-flexible" roller).

Let it air dry ot sit under a dryer OR just put a blow dryer to your head (might hurt arms though).

Take out rollers and VOILA!! Curly hair.

Right after you take a shower, or while your hair is wet, put mousse in it, it might not get it AS curly, put it will enhance your waves, if that isn't enough, you might have to resort to heat.

Blow dry it a little bit just for a damp feel.

Wait for it to cool down and then wait for them to slowly go down a bit---maybe like 5 minutes.

It's doesn't cost alot either, about $2.50-$3.99, in places like Walmart, Walgreens, and CVS.

here's what you do... you need lots of product and a blow-dryer with a diffuser attachment.

you want to use a shampoo/conditioner combo that has moisture in it, since moisture makes your hair bouncy. DO NOT brush or comb your hair out after you condition, DO NOT towel dry your hair by shaking it - only squeeze out the excess water. you don't want to break the curls...

i use 3 types of product - a pomade/wax type for everything but the roots. i use garnier fructis "soft curl cream" - it is awesome, then mousse on the roots, both applied when hair is wet. then hairspray all over the place before, during %26amp; after the drying process. if you want a "wetter" curl look, use mousse on the ends when hair is still wet - but after the pomade.

i get the best results when the dryer is on the low setting (but i'm not always that patient) - and just keep scrunching the hair as you dry it. with the diffuser, just push it up towards your scalp from the ends, so the hair kinda curls up into the diffuser to dry.

if you don't have a diffuser, just try to scrunch %26amp; hold the hair as you dry it, let it get warm, take the dryer away %26amp; let your hair cool just a bit while still in your hand - it helps to "set" the curl.

My hair is basically the same as yours but light brown.

I know how you feel becuase every time I wash my hair it curls. I used to straghten it all the time becuase if I didn't iI couldn't wear it down. My suggestion is grow it out. When curly hair gets longer it looks alot better but since your first layer is at your shoulders (like me) it curls much more.

I'd try growing it out for sure!

so, my ears stick out sometimes too, like when i get a hat, but that's okay.

you can try putting your hair in a messy bun. its always cute (to me anyways).

as for making your hair wavy... just wrap your hair AROUND the barrel of the curling iron from top to bottom, instead of clamping it then rolling it to the top. then spray hair spray, and dooont touch it. it should last the whole day, of course the curls get loosed, but they'd still be wavy. :]

Okay this is what you do, when your hair is wet put some defrizzafyer, or gel if you don't have time to go to the store just put a blob (not a lot though or it will look greasy!) in your hair and scrunch it. Or Blow dry then straighten it and then run gel again through your hair. Don't do this everyday or your hair will get dry and brittle

hmm bit of both. haircut for the fringe bit but this girl looks like she is a natural curly headed. or its just a mad curling wand. i think to achieve this look, you could try

1. washing your hair and scrunching it up softly with some mousse and letting it dry by itself or

2. washing your hair, hairdrying it and then using a curling wand to achieve great, fab looking curls. with option 2 you could then just you some light hairspray to keep your curls in place. dont go overboard or they will look tough and hard!

not really formal but, if you want formal, put your hair in a ponytail.put a ribbon* down your hair and braid it(so the ribbon shows) and then twist it in a bun, it looks beautiful (tie the ribbon in a bow)

well, i don't know about mandy moore, but i find a big barrel curling iron makes nice big loose curls. also smooths my hair nicely.

the smaller barrel tends to make me look like a poodle.
